The Obidient Generation
It is more evident with every passing day
Voting Obidient is the sure and perfect way
To revive the fading hopes of our nation
To reset its course to a glorious destination
For we are witnesses to the coming alive
Like a dream right before our very eyes
Like a swarm of bees bursting forth from the hive
A generation that has chosen to believe and arise
To rebuild a nation pillaged, laid bare
By leadership lacking the empathy and care
Required to nourish the people who are the seed
To be nurtured if the nation must prosper indeed
A generation that will not accept
As leaders those lacking in meaning and depth
Who see leadership as an opportunity to acquire
Their fleeting whim and every desire
A generation who are not quick to forget
The deeds of those who do not regret
The pain inflicted on those who were wronged
All because they desired to belong
To a nation that will treat them with respect
Not with disdain , ridicule and neglect
A nation in which they will be empowered … free
To become all that they have imagined to be
A generation determined and resolute
Whose persuasion is real, total and absolute
Despite the voices that continue to say
Now is not the time for the old to give way
A generation who have chosen to speak up
Join hands to lift our nation on top
Out of the reach of the grasping hands
That have fed fat on the riches of our lands
A generation that many a nation covet
Have devised all manner of schemes to collect
From the hands of leaders that doze in slumber
Who see the people as just digits and numbers
A generation whose time has come
The hope of what Nigeria is to become
A generation full of passion and zeal
Who will not sit back or relent ….. until
A generation to whom I say stay strong
Endure though the struggle may be long
For victory is assured at the end of the day
As we work the Yusful and Obidient way.
